Agent In England As Arsenal & Tottenham Battle Over Last Gasp Midfielder Swoop

Arsenal and Tottenham are battling to sign Sander Berge as the north London duo eye a late swoop for the talented Genk midfielder

The summer transfer window is almost closed and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Tottenham are linked with Sander Berge…

Arsenal and Tottenham are battling to sign Sander Berge as the north London duo eye a late swoop for the talented Genk midfielder, according to reports in Norway via the Mirror.

Berge has developed in to one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Norwegian football since coming through the ranks at Asker and has already been capped with the senior national team having represented Norway at every youth level from U15 through to U21.

The 20-year-old has continued to enhance his reputation since joining Genk last summer and he impressed during his 15 appearances for the Belgian outfit before missing the entire second half of last season with a serious leg injury.

It seems Berge’s potential has caught the eye of clubs here in the Premier League as the Mirror are citing a report from Dagbladet that claims Arsenal and Tottenham are showing a concrete interest in signing the midfielder.

The Norwegian newspaper says Berge’s agent is in England holding talks over a potential move as they look to wrap-up a late switch to the Premier League before the window slams shut.

The report was published several hours ago and there has been no update on how the talks have progressed today so we’ll have to wait and see if any deal can be done with Arsenal or Spurs before the 5pm deadline.

Mauricio Pochettino tottenham

The Gunners have already splashed out £70m on five new signings this summer but boss Unai Emery admitted last week he’s still in the market for further arrivals as he looks to overhaul the squad he inherited from Arsene Wenger.

Tottenham are yet to make a single signing this summer as Mauricio Pochettino has been left frustrated with chairman Daniel Levy’s attempts to sign his top targets as the Argentinean coach looks to bring in another midfield option before the window closes.

Obviously Berge is inexperienced so I assume he wouldn’t be a first team regular if he does join one of the north London duo but he has a big future ahead of him so would be an exciting young addition for either squad.
