Arsenal Confirm Striker Signing

transfer news

Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of Japanese forward Ryo Miyaichi on a long term contract. The player has been loaned to Dutch side Feyenoord for the remainder of the 2010/11 season to get valuable playing time before returning to Arsenal ahead of next season.

The capture was common knowledge some time ago but Arsenal have only just officially confirmed it, with manager Arsene Wenger telling Arsenal.com:

“We’re delighted that Ryo Miyaichi has joined us. He trialled with us in the summer and has raw ability which has attracted many clubs around the world. We wish him luck in Rotterdam with Feyenoord and we look forward to helping him with his continued progression when he returns to Arsenal.”

This wasn’t the ‘signing’ Arsenal fans were hoping for on deadline day, as Gooners were once again left empty handed after Arsene failed to bring in any new faces that will help the team push on to win some trophies this season. Buy hey, word on the street is this Miyaichi is ‘The new Henry’…..can’t wait.
