[VIDEO GOALS] What you need to know: Leyton Orient 1-1 Arsenal

By on February 20, 2011

Arsenal made their season even tougher by not getting the desired result at Brisbane Road today. 2 goals in the second half was all what the match saw today and the only positive I can take from this match is that Rosicky scored.

In the 2 min Chamakh header at the end of an Andrei Arshavin cross was saved brilliantly by Jones. By the 10th min we were dominating possession but there was no real penetration into the orient goal.

In the 15th min Chamakh should have put us 1 up. Finding himself in a good position in the Orient box, the Moroccan could only fire a feeble shot at Jones.

In the 28th min Arshavin send a curling ball into the box but Orient defender Daniels was quick to react. And 6 mins later Chamakh missed another opportunity as he slid in to poke the ball wide after some brilliant work by Gibbs on the left. In the 40th min Andrei Arshavin sent his shot from the edge of the area wide.

Our second half started well for in the 53rd min Tomas Rosicky gave us the lead. After a small spell of possession around the Orient box, Nikko fired in a cross only to be headed superbly into the net by our ‘’Little Mozart”. What a finish!

In the 68th min Rosicky’s shot forced Jones to make a quick save after some good trickery from Arshavin. 1 min later, we almost conceded. Fortunately for us, Alex Ravell’s shot went wide.

In the 82nd min Orient had a huge penalty appeal rightfully turned down? The ball did not hit Squillaci’s hand but rather his face. Good call ref..

In the 86th min Arshavin shot after a ‘hard-fought’ run hit the foot of the left-post before going wide. 3 mins later, the score was level. Jonathan Tehoue with the equalizer. Damn!

Nothing more to say after this. I guess its back to the Emirates for another replay… Final score at Brisbane Road: Leyton Orient 1-1 Arsenal FC.

Guns-out,

THE ARMOURY
