Arsenal vs Stoke: Preview, Injury News & Predicted Line-Up

By on February 22, 2011

Arsenal host Stoke City this Wednesday in the Barclay’s Premier League. This is the Gunners second game in less than 72 hours so a huge number of changes is expected.

Injury-News :

DJ should be back in the squad after he missed the trip to Brisbane Road. The usual candidates are still out.

Probable Line-up :

———————————————————-Szczesny———————————————————-

—Sagna—————————-Kosher———————————–DJ—————————–Clichy—–

——————————————-Song—————————-Jack——————————————–

————————————————————Cesc————————————————————-

—–Theo———————————————————————————————————Nasri—-

————————————————————RVP————————————————————-

Subs : Almunia, Gibbs, Squillaci, Denilson, Arshavin, Chamakh, Nikko.

Final Thoughts :

Since the Carling Cup Final is this weekend a win over Stoke would not only keep the pressure on Manchester United (who face Chelsea), but also give us confidence when we enter Wembley next week. Personally, nothing less than a win is required at the Emirates tomorrow.

This is going to be a physical test for the defense, something which I do want them to get used to – Stoke are a rough team, probably one of the roughest in the premier league, so our centre backs will be up for it. Moreover, the entire Arsenal defense will be tested by Delap’s long-throw. It’s not going to be easy, and it’s not going be pretty.

BUT COME-WHAT-MAY, WE NEED THOSE 3 POINTS !

Guns-out,

THE ARMOURY

PS: Rosicky may play in place of Denilson
