Arsenal On Verge Of Signing Swedish Midfielder

By on April 3, 2011

It is yet again the recurring theme of signing youngsters for the Gunners, as they are on the verge of signing 15 year old midfield prodigy Kristoffer Olsson.

The midfield talent has already held trials with Arsenal, even playing in their 16 squad in an under 16 match against Championship side Crystal Palace. Arsene Wenger is said to be well impressed with the Swedish youngster.

The IFK Norrkoping midfielder is set for a permanent move to North London with the deal costing around £200,000. Norrkoping’s sporting director Tony Martinsson confirmed the teenager has spent time with Arsenal but says any deal is yet to be agreed.

They want him. He has been over a few times and really made an impression. It’s up to the clubs to agree and also the personal contract, but Arsenal really want this to go through – that’s 100 per cent certain.

As staunch as I am in my support of Arsenal (since 1933) I am starting to cringe when I read of possible new signings and immediately look at the age……in the vain hope that it isn’t a youngster. In this latest case it’s a 15year-old yet again and I feel disappointed. I hope that in the Summer we sign some experienced players to form the spine of the team, on which these young pros can learn and prosper. Otherwise an “over young” team will be expected to do too much, yet again.

Very inspiring photograph of the young lad, makes him look like he`s on the police `wanted list`. I`m sure the lad has talent and I wish him the best because by the time he reaches maturity I won`t be around. Now, how about we buy some mature professionals so that I can enjoy the twilight of my years.?
