Yet Another Goalkeeper Linked To Arsenal

Arsenal have been rumoured to be wanting to sign yet another goalkeeper, and this time it is for once an experienced player who’s in the picture for Arsenal.

The man in question is former Parkhead goalkeeper, Artur Boruc. Wenger is looking to bring some experience to his goalkeeping lineup and could get Boruc on the cheap, as the 31 year old is thought to be behind Sebastian Frey in the chase to be number 1 goalkeeper at Fiorentina.

After 5 years with the Scottish giants, Boruc left for Italy in search of better competition, but he has failed to impress in the Serie A, with only a knee injury to number 1 choice Frey giving Boruc his only run in at the First Team choice.

Arsenal have had several issues with their current crop of goalkeepers this season, having started with Manuel Almunia as first choice custodian, Wenger was forced to drop the Spaniard after a succession of errors and Lukasz Fabianski was then drafted in and although much improved may not be seen as number one starter, especially after being forced out of the side with a long term injury.

Youngster Wojciech Szczesny was then thrown in at the deep end and although clearly a player with great promise the 20 year old also committed errors before he too was struck down injury. Wenger had attempted to sign Mark Schwarzer last summer and has been linked with moves for Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina but a move for Boruc may be a more realistic and cost effective addition.

Everton and Tottenham are also rumoured to be interested in the Fiorentina man.
