Liverpool Interested In £16m La Liga Wideman

By on April 10, 2011

Liverpoolfc.tv have reported that Liverpool are potentially involved in transfer negotiating with Spanish club Sevilla for their winger Diego Perotti. Reds manager Kenny Dalglish is seeking creative ways to best utilize Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, and Sevilla winger Diego Perotti just might be an excellent addition to the Anfield outfit. Dalglish said when speaking to Liverpool.tv:

We signed Andy Carroll for five-and-a-half years, not for three weeks, [In the summer] we’ll analyze what we need. Andy is going to be part of our team, so is Suarez, so we need a combination of players who are going to be complementary to what we have.

An Argentine by blood, Perotti has been having a sensational season for Sevilla, as Sevilla are trying to sneak into that elusive Champions League spot. The 22-year-old winger has three goals and three assists in 22 games this season for Sevilla, prompting interest from the Merseyside giants.

Even though he signed a five-year deal with Sevilla, the club has shown interest in selling Perotti if a decent offer is brought to the table. They are looking to get around £16 million for him. Other clubs that are interested include Liverpool’s fierce rivals Everton and Manchester City.

Very pleasing! I mentioned Perotti a few weeks back when I read a report of the possibility he was available. He is a tricky and talented winger. I believe he could become a vital piece of a first rate attack. He ticks all the boxes for what the management require of incoming players – a perfect buy I would think…
