Why Chelsea Shouldn’t Sell Fernando Torres

By on April 14, 2011

The Spaniard is misfiring on all cylinders, with lacklustre recent displays for Chelsea. So it might surprise you to hear the title. Check out the reasons!

Little Money Back

Well, the obvious reason, my personal opinion is that it would be better to keep a potentially world class player among your ranks, rather than see that player moving on on the cheap and performing wonderfully at his future club. I mean, would you seriously rate Fernando Torres at £50 million anymore? More like 1 million, and at the rate he’s going, it could go lower!

A ‘Younger’ Option

Well, Drogba and Anelka aren’t going to play football for that much longer, so it’s better to secure themselves, especially in the short term should one of them leave sometime soon, or even if an injury comes about for either of them. Look at it this way, many youngsters know they probably won’t get a chance at Chelsea’s first XI and Fernando Torres would fit the bill to play the role of the striker.

The Boy’s Just Talented!

This is a hard thing to say, especially for such a big Liverpool fan like myself, but the boy’s got talent. I think that he has what it takes to come out of his goal drought for Chelsea and I think that eventually he will become a bargain signing.

A message to Chelsea.Sack carlo, bring in marco vanbasten/villas boas and guss as sporting director.sell frank lampard, drogba, anelka, malouda, bosingwa, ferreira, essein and yuri. Bring in vanderweil, aguero/lukaku, william/hazard, neymar, hamsik/ader turan/pastorer, kevin de bryone.give the right and younger players the chance to form a new chelsea under the right manager and we’ll see a new era in CFC locker-room that will excel in europe and everywhere else.

Just give Fernando a b r e a k! He only needs a break – stop pestering him and only give him some time. People have said too much and he only gets confused. He will definitely make it in a short while. Torres just keep a deaf ear about what they are saying about you and carry on.

Torres need time. The manager coach was not smart in using him when he was out of form.

Chelsea’s problems started with the firing of Ray Wilkins. The team has never been the same since. Ancellotti does not see any problem. Seems to enjoy his wine too much

Torres has been and is still a good player. That he has not scored doesn’t mean he does not worth £50m. His scoring sheet is close to be seen in the virtue of his performance against man u in the 1st leg of the quarter final. Let’s just cheer him up and avoid mounting pressures on the guy. He is, of course, a player of the fans. El-nino worths doing it!

Correction Flamboyant Ice. Fernando Torres is a football mercenary NOT a player of the fans!

    Ask any liverpool fan

That Ancelotti made it last year was by the effort of Ray Wikkins. Carlo doesn’t know how to coach weller, but he used the influence of his assistance to cover up. Now that Wikkins is no more at the club, we’ve seen the way Carlo has been leading us ever since November. Can we go ahead suffering this great over-turn? No, God Forbid! Chelsea is meant to be bluish. The blue colour must not be changed red. The Blue is our pride. Let’s cleave to it.

Fernando Torres is a world class player. He probably should never have gone to Chelsea as he was beginning to flourish under King Kenny. FC Barcelona would now be the ideal move for him, his Spanish wife and young family. He will never play for Real Madrid having been brought up by their great rivals. Leave the big heads at Chelsea and come and play for the greatest team and the greatest manager in the world who are also modest and humble. Come to Barca!!

Torres needs time…… Time to work out why he left a world renowned club to join chavski. The place where the fans find plastic flags under their seats on champions league games! The place where fans expect European cup success regardless of the fact they’ve never won one. The place where fans that take a Liverpool el niño banner and dye it blue, only to forget that they left a picture of the shankly gates on it! (thanks for the southern representation boys ) . The reason Chelsea haven’t won the European cup is because their support is grim and over-demanding. Remember the Glenn huddle management days? Nah , didn’t think so ! You probably all supported fulham back then.

The latest comment proves my point. Fickle ex-fulham fans. You bought success and let it consume you. No different than blackburn rovers . Now get back down that league table before your supporters get nose bleeds!

please give Torres a fuckin break !!! Everybody knows the quality he’s got and the fact that he’s not scoring right now dosent mean he would never get back to form.

what the common “chelsea hater” thinks is that chelsea bought the premiership, before chelsea even got taken over they had qualified for the champions league. Honestly they’re just jealous, yes chelsea have money now but every football fan knows how hard it is to build a world class team from basically scratch. Look at man city and real madrid. Now back onto the subject torres is world class face it, every striker goes through a dry spell, least i remind you abou a certain player named thierry henry he took 9 games to score his first goal and look what he did. give torres time he needs a pre season under his belt and it doesnt help that he’s living in a hotel and his family is still up in liverpool. Now i want every one to think for a second yes chelsea have had a poor season, but people are saying that a poor season for chelsea is 3rd possibly 2nd and if the results go chelsea’s way champions and a champions league quarter finalist. so how well did liverpool do in the champions league hmmmm… the fact is torres wants to win trophies and he wants them now. liverpool are in the changing period and will still be in there for a couple more years which is the main reason he left. if chelsea wanthim to suceed next seaon they dont want to change a lot of things just little things: out- malouda, anelka(maybe) zhirkov, bosingwa in- neymar, ganso, lukaku (loan him out first season) and
van der wiel maybe even robben. now these players will add some creativity in the chelsea ranks. Blue blood will soon be running through torres. and one big player that i think will help torres is aguero old athletico team mates. BLUE IS THE COLOUR!!!

Dan : be honest, your team is ageing and you are facing an uphill battle to rebuild your team before the financial fair play rules kick in (if they’re properly enforced). So let’s see how you get on when roman isn’t allowed to play football manager. Don’t take offence at comments from Lfc fans. We know that you would trade 100 torres’s for 5 European cups. It’s hard sticking up for a team with such a mediocre history. Look at the overview page for Chelsea on this very site. Without roman, you’d struggle writing more than a paragraph. Now get back down that table like a good little London club!
