4 Teenagers Show The Future Is Bright On Merseyside

It was an absolute memorable day for 4 young teenagers out there at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. And they will be more than happy that their experience ended well.

The future looks bright down at the red half of Merseyside, as the match against Arsenal showed all the fans that Dalglish was certainly all in it for the future, as 4 young men out there made their mark, with the youngest member Jack Robinson frustrating the pacey Theo Walcott, John Flanagan keeping Nasri rather quiet, Jonjo, well, not enough time for him, and Jay Spearing, whom was named man of the match.

King Kenny could well have put in the likes of N’gog instead of Shelvey when he made the substitution, but let me change the perspective, all the players N’gog, Jovanovic, Cole, and Poulsen are all going to be shipped out in the summer, so what’s the point of playing them? Kenny made a wonderful decision to play the youngsters and to basically say, ‘So here’s a side chasing the Premier League, show me what you’re made of’, and they certainly showed him.

It really doesn’t get to a much bigger stage than the Emirates against a side with so many Internationals like Arsenal. What was so impressive was their determination to make an impression, and it was clear for all to see, Spearing coming back on countless occasions to help the defence, Flanagan making hard tackles for the ball, even Shelvey’s yellow card challenge was another testiment to that, being eager to get the ball.
