Excellent Week For The Academy As Liverpool Hammer Man Utd 6-0

By on April 20, 2011

Well, it has been a phenomenal week for the Academy boys this week, and it wasn’t just because of the youngsters out there at the Emirates, it was much, much more.

And by that I mean the Liverpool Under 18 victory against fierce Manchester rivals, Manchester United’s Under 18s. The result, a 6-0 rout of the Red Devils. Adam Morgan boosted his credentials with (another) goal for the Liverpool Under 18s, his 13th successive scoring game.

Toni Silva and Michael Ngoo both scored two goals apiece and another prodigy, Krisztian Adorjan was also on target for the Reds. The reds are behind Merseyside rivals, Everton in the chase for the youth title.

Liverpool will be delighted with the outcome of the youth game, as they also had a successful run in the senior side, with 3 academy members taking part in first team proceedings, them being Jack Robinson, John Flanagan and Jonjo Shelvey as well as Jay Spearing

All managed to give good accounts for themselves and the future looks really bright on the youth side for Liverpool.

Man Utd had 7 u16’s and 2 schoolboys playing because they have the 2nd leg of the Youth cup semi final tonight. I wouldnt get that excited about the result.! Plus Liverpool (who have a good youth team, dont get me wrong) scored 4 of their goals in the last 14 mins of play. This is a poor reflection of reality.

Liverpool also had several players who are either not regulars or have another year at u-18 level next season. No one is getting carried away necessarily but 4 goals were not scored in the last 15 minutes of the game, it was 3-0 at half time and 5-0 after 70 minutes so I’m not sure where you got that from?

Anyway, it’s a drastic improvement on recent years for Liverpool to see youngsters getting into the first team. Some would say it’s about time.

A Manure fan being biased again, what is new. still our Under 18s thrash their under 18s and they still seem to mucker up excuses, but the truth is manure fans you have no excuses for this one.

That’s called complete demolition. I can’t wait for them to repeat that feat with the first team in the Premier league. Outright domination. We have every reason to get carried away with performances like this.
