Fernando Torres, What Can We Say?

By on April 21, 2011

It’s amazing that it has come down to this now. The holder of the British record signing, Fernando Torres has failed to score in 13 successive games in the blue kit of Chelsea FC

What’s astonishing is the fact that many betting companies have lowered the odds of Fernando Torres not scoring for the rest of this season to just 5/2, given the fact that he has 5 matches left to save face at Stamford Bridge.

He can score if he plays. It’s very difficult to change the team that played so well against West Brom, not just for the result, not just for the performance. They did very well against West Bromwich.

Ancelotti said about Fernando Torres’ general performance against West Bromwich, so what does it take to wake up the Spaniard this season, he’s certainly been in slumber for quite a while, now it seems that Liverpool’s economy has not only gained from the transfer itself, but I’m guessing there have been tons betting on Torres not being able to score out of hate.

How can u expect a striker to score goals without any accurate passes it impossible, look back to torres at liverpool, they use to feed him with accurate passes and torres use to deliver them with goals, now look at torres at chelsea no accurate passes and u want him to deliver that is not possible,am a chelsea fan and i still love el nindo, when torres was still at liverpool all the goals he against chelsea was from an accurate passes, let benayoun support torres and he deliver to chelsea fc with goals or get him a creative midfielder like luka modric and let see what happen next.

Don’t understand the hatred for Torres and the hero worship of Alonso et al. Alonso left at a time Liverpool were challenging for the title and effectively destroyed the balance of the team much more than the departure of Torres has. If he had truly loved the club he would have stayed for the 2009/10 season but clearly Real Madrid was a much better prospect (in terms of money and tax concessions). However, Alonso has played the media game much better than Torres (who seems to have spoken with a raw and honest, if ill advised, anger against the backroom shennanigens at the club) and has managed to retain the affection of the Liverpool fans despite his betrayal. In the bread and circuses for the masses that football has become it’s frightening how irrational football fans are, how easily the mob can be manipulated, and how quickly they can turn from hero worship to intense hatred. A scary and depressing inditement of human nature.
