TRANSFER NEWS: Manchester United Summer Target’s

By on April 29, 2011

Top of the Premier League, FA Cup Semi-Finalists and Champions League Semi-Finalists isn’t bad for a Manchester United team which has been called, ‘the worst Sir Alex has ever had’. I think the most impressive thing about United this season has been their ability to grind out results, especially in Europe and especially away from home where they are still yet to concede a single goal.

With Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand back together in the centre of defence, United are a completely different side. Chris Smalling has done fantastically well and will be a fine player for United in the years to come but he isn’t Rio, not yet anyway. Supplemented with Patrice Evra and the Da Silva twins in the full back positions, United are well served in defence for the next few seasons at least.

Michael Carrick has been massively under-rated this season by many who don’t appreciate just what kind of job he is being asked to do. Nemanja Vidic has been recently quoted as saying that he has been one of United’s most important players this season. At times his passing has let him down for someone who has the kind of ability he has on the ball and he doesn’t score anywhere near enough goals, but he was become a fine holding midfielder, not in the art of tackling but in the art of interception and breaking up the play.

As well as United have done this season, and it may bring one or two trophies, investment is needed in the summer and here are the four players to breathe new life into United.

Manuel Neuer (goalkeeper) – He’s been the best goalkeeper in the world for a while now, a lot of people in Germany have gone as far as to say he is the reason Schalke are in the Semi Finals of the Champions League and his performance against United last night further enhanced his glowing reputation. A possible Bayern Munich deal has surfaced, but United will surely keep tabs.

Phil Jones (defender/midfielder) – Superstar young defender Jones is sure to move on this summer with Blackburn desperately close to the drop zone and relegation a big possibility. Strong, quick and agile, he can play in central defence or as a holding midfielder, may be seen as the ideal long term partner for Chris Smalling.

Gareth Bale (Midfielder) – Although the second half of his season has been plagued by injuries, his performances before Christmas has alerted all of the top European clubs. If Spurs miss out on the Champions League this season, he may move on and would certainly fancy linking up with his idol Ryan Giggs at United.

Wesley Sneijder (Midfielder) – With Inter having a poor season after winning the double last year, the Dutch midfielder would fancy a move to the Premier League. He would provide United with the central midfield craft that they have been lacking this season and would be the ideal replacement for Paul Scholes who looks set to retire at the end of the season.

Neuer and Bale could do a great job at Manchester United. Sneijder could also strengthen United’s midfield. If United transfers these players, they could have one of the best teams in the world.

bale, sneijder and one more defender are very important to be in manchester for the next season and manchester could be a best team because after the retirement of keane man u havent a midfield like him so they have to sign sneijder

Phil Jones will be an important signing to partner Smallings for the future. Neuer will be not be easy as he is linked to Bayern, but instead De Gea is not bad. Sneijder will be the key signing (if it Happens) & I dont think Bale is proffesional enough althoug he is talented.

Heres an alternative view, Forget bale, a very expensive one-trick injury prone pony, go for varane instead of jones, cheaper option, hugely promising, splash out on neuer, do whatever it takes to get him, if you can get sneijder for under 25M, go for it, if not, get Sahin on the cheap, buy another fast sriker to complement hernadez, someone like falcao, and drop rooney into sneijders role. We dont need to spend 50M to strengthen the team this summer, so long as we are clever and buy the right players

I like that – it’s the effective buys like Hernandez that makes you feel so good when they prove their worth. The ones with bigger tags always struggle to impose. And yes, if we get Neuer, nothing like that!

a keeper is 1st, either neuer or de gea, next work on the midfield. sneijder is great for attacking/playmaker. rodwell or fellaini will be good for the holding. if anything is left over, then reinforce defense.

    sell anderson
    loan out bebe and obertan.

promote welbeck and cleverley to 1st team

Flog Berbatov- he slows attacking play down, Edwin’s knocked it on the head and will probably followed by carrot top + giggsy is on his last legs so we need some fresh talent (hopefully most of it will be english) .De Gea (top replacement for Edwin) , Phil Jones (ideal partner for Smalling), Ashley Young(taking over from little carrot-top) ( and Jack Rodwell(exelent defensive midfielder. Young is a s**t hot playmaker apart from the fact he is a bit of a wimp. Promote welbeck and cleverley to 1st team. I think that should do.

A young is a must he is versatile ( left, right wing behind the striker ) he can carry the ball from deep which gives us a hugely improved counter attacking option which i feel we’ve lost a little since ronaldo left, plus his contract situation means he can be got at a very reasonable price, this is key as dont believe theres to much cash to spare , phil jones looks good alot of determination but with the chicken farmers blackburn dont need to sell hes only 18 is it he can relax there for awhile see what happens (evans looked great to remember) most important is central midfield scholsey breaks my heart to say it is done and carrick well best to say nothing sniednjer or modric would be perfect, striker give wellbeck a chance!!!and lavessi from napolli the boy is class could be as good as tevez sell berbatov !!!
