Manchester United To Make £24 Million Bid For Neuer

By on April 28, 2011

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is being strongly linked with a £24 million bid to lure Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to Old Trafford next season.

Bayern Munich will most likely be Neuer’s next destination, but Manchester United will not at all hesitate to battle against the German powerhouse for the 25-year-old stopper.

But Sir Alex Ferguson has learned no deal between Schalke and Bayern Munich is in place just yet, and with the German giants unwilling to pay Schalke more than £20m, the Manchester United boss wants to launch the killer bid to get his man.

And the massive offer of £24 million could be just too much for Bayern Munich to match, leaving Sir Alex Ferguson in the pole position to sign the man regarded as one of the world’s best goalkeepers following his spectacular performance against United on Tuesday.

Neuer is a great keeper, but the Athletico Madrid keeper David De Gea is even better.
