It seems that the prodigies seem to get younger and younger these days, as VVV Venlo have gone one step further to sign a one year old on a ten year contract!

Baerke Van der Meij, 1 and a half years old, has officially put pen to paper with VVV Venlo after a singular training session with the Dutch side. The kid shot to fame on Youtube when he shot three successive shots with his foot into a box.

Not bad for a baby, but a 10-year contract!!?!  It’s impossible to say how this child will develop and almost unbelievable a football club would sign a 1 year old. He’ll need to get himself up the gym or buy some fitness equipment, work hard and hope he develops into a professional athlete, because signing up a toddler because of him kicking a toy football is ludicrous!
