TRANSFER NEWS: Fabregas Off, Gunners Linked With Midfielder & Defender

By on May 5, 2011

Our gossip column continues and today, it seems that we’ve got loads of gossip coming out of the Emirates:

Fabregas, Arsenal to Real Madrid

Well, might be a bit of worthless news from the Daily Mail today, as they are once again suggesting that Arsenal are set to receive a mammoth bid from Real Madrid over the summer transfer window for their captain Cesc Fabregas. Well, we all sorta know that ‘Captain Fab’ wants to move to Barcelona, but well, it definitely won’t stop Real Madrid from making a bid.

The Daily Mail claim that he is ‘is the No 1 target for Real Madrid’ and that Fabregas has been ‘careful not to rule out Madrid’ as a possible future home. Well, that really doesn’t mean that he re-thought the possibilities, but of course Barcelona might not be able to come out with the transfer funding, so who knows?

Willian to replace Nasri

Well, we’ve got another piece from the Daily Mail here and it says that Willian is set to ‘replace’ Nasri in the summer. Kinda strange, because noone’s bid for the Frenchman yet! Well, it says here that:

“Arsene Wenger is optimistic the France international will put pen to paper on a new long-term deal – though certain members of the Arsenal hierarchy feel Nasri will give serious consideration to leaving if one of Europe’s elite clubs come in with a firm offer.”

Phil Jones, Blackburn to Arsenal

This time we shall shift newspapers to The Independent as Phil Jones has expressed his interest in the pending move to Arsenal. The report quotes Jones as saying:

“I think Arsenal play the prettiest football in the Premier League. Obviously money helps. Having more money allows you to play in a certain way, but that’s the beauty of the Premier League – there are so many different styles. You know it’s not easy for Arsenal to go to Stoke and win a game there anymore. It’s not knocking anyone’s style, it’s just the nature of the Premier League and that’s why everyone loves it.”

What do you guys make of that, and do Arsenal fans REALLY want him at the Emirates? I’m pretty sure most are more keen in a more experienced defender, for example Gary Cahill.

What do you guys think of the gossip, write down your thoughts in the comments section below!

On cesc. I personally just want the whole saga done with so the club its fans and the players can get on with it. I’m sick to the back teeth with all the bullshit year in year out always the same shit. The worst thing is when he does leave someone else will take his place as the next big star to have his head turned. (step up one Samir Nasri.) We should sell Fab as proof that moving on isnt always wise, because we all know for the next couple of years provding Xavi’ fittness holds out he is going to become a very expensive bench warmer.
And finaly on Jones. Shouldnt we be looking at players who WANT to play for us especially if there straight out of the Terry mould. I say get the check book Mr Wenger!!!!

i just wanna say may be ARSENAL board should sit and talk head to head in other to archive in next session cos six good years trophy less is not the i deal.i don’t know were the problem come from, may be from the board or the coach or the players i think these are the area where the board should think of.Arsenal is the club to be but when someone is thinking of archiving from somebody and he did not he will leave the person ie arsenal fans are feed up of trophy less so board member arsene wenger please do something about this we all love arsenal as a club and the best club in the world. In additional i think we need more player in the mix like strong and sharp striker, hard midfield and many more.

If cesc goes and we have 100 or more million to spend (45 cesc+40 kroenke + 15 at least from the rejects), then i would expect 2 centre backs (verm could always play def midfield), a striker, a winger, and a playmaker in midfield, and maybe a shwartzer type goalie as reserve to szeczney).
With the brilliant young players blossoming, we could be winning trophies for years to come.
