Ex-Liverpool Man Keen On Shock Return

By on May 7, 2011

Former Liverpool star John Arne Riise has not ruled out a possible return to the club he once won the prestigious UEFA Champions League with after suggesting that he would be open to a move back to The Reds.

The Norwegian international is currently a regular starter at Roma but has been linked with moves away from the Stadio Olimpico. Liverpool are currently busy looking for an experienced left back despite Dalglish being impressed with the performances of Jack Robinson.

Riise’s contract runs out in 2012 and Roma could be temped to sell and the Norwegian had this to say when responding to rumours linking him with a move back to merseyside:

I am flattered by reports linking me with a return to England. Liverpool are close to my heart. They are a great club and I have some good memories. I have a contract here until June 2012, so you never know.

A week late and utter rubbish. He has already said he was misquoted and his agent is negotiating a contract extension.
