Arsenal crumbled at The Britannia with Stoke running out 3-1 victors. Poor defending was once again the problem for the Gunners, as Jones tapped home unmarked from close range from a set piece midway through the first half. Ex-Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant then fired home from 25 yards, the shot taking a slight deflection on its way through, to make it 2-0 at half time.
