Liverpool FC: A Team To Be Reckoned With Once More

The results don’t lie, the opinions are facts, Liverpool are on the rise, but the huge question mark is really on whether they can maintain it.

Not just an Anfield Side

Well, Liverpool’s 5-2 victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage proved that the Merseysiders can win on the road, as well as at home as a convincing all-round display by a resurgent Liverpool side showed the strength and the recovery that Liverpool have made since almost the day that Hodgson was appointed.

The curse of the away game looks to have disappeared (at least for now) and Liverpool must now surely have side that are actually strong enough to at least challenge for the 3 automatic Champions League places.

After You Win, Win Another One

That’s the mentality that has once again been instilled amongst the Liverpool FC ranks. Kenny Dalglish has done well to improve the side in the January transfer window, throwing out the rather unproductive striker Fernando Torres and bringing in a breath of fresh air in Luis Suarez, so that’s been done pretty well.

The stats don’t lie, W D W W W is the current form for the reds, and that’s even more impressive when you look at the victories and draws one by one.

win vs Fulham, 5-2
win vs Newcastle 3-0
win vs Birmingham 5-0
draw vs Arsenal 1-1
win vs Manchester City 3-0

This Liverpool FC side is on the rise and is certainly able to challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United on their day. You can even compare the results like this, in the Premier League, Liverpool FC have the best past 5 game form record, with them grabbing 13 out of a possible 15.

if only Dalglish took over earlier…

Suarez, Signing of the Season

Well, there’s no doubt about this Uruguayan’s talent, he’s got the pace, he’s got a remarkable shot, and he’s got an incredible technique with the ball meaning that he can dribble past almost any opponent.

Remember against Manchester United? He certainly left his mark at Old Trafford all right, going past plenty of defenders to give Kuyt the simplest of goals. Well, he added another in the game against Fulham. He got away from his marker pretty well and he had a pretty calm finish to finish off. The kid’s talent.

Fernando Who?
