The Week Summed Up: Record Gone, But We’re Fighting Back

football news

Here’s a new addition to Two Liverpool Fans and it is called ‘The Week Summed Up’ for a Liverpool fan and the focus this week is on Manchester United’s number 19.

Manchester United have pretty much all but wrapped up the Premier League title this season as it is pretty much virtually impossible that they will drop 6 points out of 6 in their remaining two games, and as a Liverpool fan, it’s not really good news is it?

Not Only the Premier League

Not only the Premier League is looking to go to the Red Devils, but they might also get the Champions League title should they prevail against Barcelona at Wembley. Although I personally think that Barcelona are a far superior team to Manchester United, there is still always an outside chance.

Losing the Premier League record was painful enough, I mean we’ve held the record for so long, we even came agonizingly close a few seasons back, claiming a second place finish. But Manchester United coming to get us in terms of Champions League titles is also painful to bear for a Liverpool fan.

I want to knock Liverpool off their perch

Alex Ferguson

The famous statement by the Scotsman, pretty sure that plenty would laugh when he said it at that time, but boy has he proven them (including me) wrong.

We’re coming back for the record

We are Liverpool Football Club, so we will certainly be back, and judging by our recent form, Liverpool now have a team worthy of challenging for the title. With a strikeforce including the trickery of Luis Suarez and the physical presence of Andy Carroll, we can break down the most difficult of opponents now.

Our 5 match form is currently the best in the league, bar none and in fact the money that will be spent will only improve the squad in the summer. Alongside that, the likes of John Flanagan and Jack Robinson can only improve with age and they can be regulars in the team pretty soon.
