REPORT: Liverpool & Spurs Face Fight For Wing Ace

By on May 20, 2011

The most wanted man in the Premiership it seems. Charles N’Zogbia is set a 6 way tussle this summer. Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Juventus and Sunderland are set to battle it out for the Frenchman’s signature.

Newcastle has up to £30million this summer and are looking to bring back the winger who they sold to Wigan for £4million. Local rivals Sunderland have made the 24-year old their top priority this summer, as Bruce looks to add much needed ammunition to his squad.

Liverpool have targeted Villa’s Young and Downing as their top summer targets, but will look to the Wigan man if they fail to sign the pair, ironically, Villa will look to snap up N’Zogbia if they lose their two English internationals reports the Mirror.

Downing has said last week on the official website that he is signing a new contract. Interesting how none of the journalists actually read that story.

Villa letting Downing and Young go in the same window would be like Liverpool, who Villa finished ahead of last season, letting Gerrard and Suarez go in the same window. It just isn’t going to happen.

N’Zogbia is a fantastic player, and when Young leaves he would be a great replacement at Villa.
