Transfer News: Arsenal, Liverpool & Man City Latest…

By on May 28, 2011

Plenty of transfer gossip doing the rounds lately, here’s a round up:

Arsenal Waiting on Samir Nasri

It looks like the makings of two huge transfer sagas that Arsenal will have to deal with this summer, both star midfield players Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. As it is still uncertain as to whether Nasri will sign a contract extension that will tie him to the Emirates for the next five years and the player has been strongly linked with a move to Man Utd.

Nasri has been offered a five-year deal in the region of £90,000-per-week – but is stalling on signing.

Gunners sources insist the club are confident the France forward will extend his stay at the Emirates. But Wenger does not want the contract stand-off to drag on much longer so that he has enough time to sign a replacement, namely Downing.

And the Frenchman has instructed the Gunners hierarchy to get a definitive answer

The Mail

Tevez Rejects move to Juve

Carlos Tevez has rejected a move to Juventus in the summer after refusing a contract that would have earned him 20 million euros a year. Here’s the full report:

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has turned down an incredible £20m a year offer from Juventus and is now set to stay at Eastlands.

The Daily Mail

Liverpool to make move for Birmingham City defender

With Birmingham City relegated, Liverpool are looking to steal centerback Scott Dann. The Metro reports that the Birmingham City defender is a lifelong fan of the Merseyside club and would welcome the move after Birmingham were relegated to the Championship.

The Chase for Downing

Arsenal and Liverpool have stepped up their interest in Downing as he has declined a contract renewal offer by Aston Villa. So that’s an interesting one to watch.

What are you talking about? Nasri hasnt said anything about not signing a contract. In fact, Nasri’s agent stated that he is looking forward to signing a new contract, he wants to play for Arsenal but is just hoping for a wage increase.

wenger should sign up both nasri and downing. he could actualy show some of our players how to cross right onto a strikers head, besides we always get tons of injuries and no world class back up. e.g if nasri and walcott are injured who has to come in? arshavin and rosicky

What is the point of crossing the ball when we don’t have any players in the box, bring back 4-4-2, we looked so much better at Fulham with that formation.

On selling Nasri, he is holding out for 120 a week, Wenger will stand his ground and he will go. Our loss. Mr Stubborn strikes again.

we have and will be asscociated we every single player in the world , we are buying Benzima , Cahill, Downing, Moses, Pancho Villa , Tony Montana, and the bullshit keeps going , we would not be making any moves until we have managed to off load a few of the deadwood at the Emirates, still i believe we will still be in the same boat next next with a few new rowers , nothing will change until we start keeping some of our over 30s players , Vieira, Henry, Bergkamp,Pires ,Gilberto,Lindburg, all winners where are they now , wenger thought they were too old , look at Fergi , Giggs Scholes, Neville, [recent retired] Van der sar , still all playing , who have Arsenal got ??? Wenger and his dreams are all wet , time to move up stairs , I can’t take him serious anymore ..SORRY …

if they want to leave let them leave… buy a replacement from the wages they get… Winger is not a problem.. Vela, Rosicky, Van Persie, and even the japanese youngster is returning from loan… so we’ve got a lot of option.. buy a defensive midfielder like Toulalan, Scott Parker… and defender like cahill, mertesacker

We should get Gervinho, Eden Hazard, Benzema…we don’t really need any more midfielders but if Nasri and Fabregas leave, we should get Willian to replace Fabregas and we’ve alredy got Ramsey & Wilshere replacement for Nasri. Sell Clichy and get Baines, also get Samba to pair up woth T.Vermalean and buy Ben Foster or Givens in goal.
If that happens, we will win EPL, Carling Cup, F.A Cup & Champions League.

Why has no one mentioned Mario Gomez yet? Hes 6ft 2,25years old, has scored 28 goals in 32 games this season in a struggling bayern side. He has experience at international and european level. Plus from what i’ve heard Bayern are intersted in Bendtner so why not offer him as part of a exchange with money on top. I feel he would be the perfect striker for us and would provide a finish product for all them crosses going wasted into the box. Any1 else agree?

WOW, Liverpool look to be promising next season! We went from top quality transfer targets eg- Hazard, Coentrao to players like Downing, Dann although I rate these Dann and downing they’re not up to the standard of the other top 4 teams
