Arsenal Transfer News: Mario Gotze…. The Next German Superstar

By on May 30, 2011

This player has been the revelation of the German League this season, he is just 18 years old, who has made the first team last season, he plays with the current champions Borussia Dortmund and is heavily mentioned as a target for the Gunners. The player I’m talking about, is the next big thing and German superstar, the player is Mario Gotze.

Mario Gotze was born in Memmingen, Germany on June 3,1992. He is 5 ft 9 1/2 inches tall and plays primarily as an attacking midfielder. He is a product of the Borussia Dortmund youth academy, which he joined as an 8 year old. Mario Gotze made his debut as a late substitute against FSV Mainz 05 on November 21, 2009. This season 2010-2011, however, has been his breakthrough season. Gotze made 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and making 15 assists, with his best performance coming against runners-up Bayer Leverkusen, scoring a goal and making 2 others in the 3-1 away victory, which helped in Dortmund winning the title. Gotze is one of the best players this season despite his young age and is blessed with speed, technical skill, and creativity. German legend Mathias Sammer remarked, “Gotze is one of the best talents we ever (Germany) had.”

Gotze is now a full German international and has made 4 appearances so far, ever since making his debut on November 17, 2010 against Sweden. Gotze is a potential, future world class player and superstar and is valued at around 20 million pounds by his club. In my opinion, he is going to become a top player and a huge star, but with that value, it is highly unlikely that he’s going to a move and his club, Borussia Dortmund, have already stated that there is no chance of selling him.

If you don’t know much about Mario Gotze, check out these videos:

What do you think? Do you want to see Mario Gotze as a Gunner? Should Wenger go all out for him? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Cheers and take care,

Why is it everyone thinks that B.Dortmund’s best players want to leave? They are the best team in Germany by far, have just qualified for the Champions League and are a strong young unit that can grow together for years. Subotic, Hummels, Zidan and Gotze are absolute quality and having just lost Sahin i cannot see them letting any more leave.

It’s unlikely that he will leave, but the speculation and gossip are suggesting that, of course with other teams linked.

I hope Dortmund don’t lose anymore players, they are an excellent side, but the loss of Sahin was a big blow.

      Cheers and take care,

It’s better for Wenger to get the finished and proven product. Arsenal have already been set back by some of the kids with wc potential.
Not another high profile who may not deliver when the time comes.

Lol what a useless and a failure of an article.

Firstly no way in hell can or are Arsenal going to get Gotze.

Second Oalmasri stop copying data of wikipedia and actually write about a player you have seen (that doesn’t mean youtube clips, which probably is the closest you got to see Gotze play).

If you would have seen Gotze play you would know he is not 5 ft 9 bu way smaller. Oh sorry, you just copied and pasted Wikipedia!

Did I say that Gotze is coming to Arsenal? He was watched and there was genuine interest from the Gunners and Dortmund refused to consider which I stated in the article.

Why are you doubting that I never seen Gotze play? I watch the Bundesliga regularly, especially Dortmund and Gotze. His performance against Bayer Leverkusen is one of the best I’ve seen, especially from an 18 year old.

Yes, I messed up with the height as his height is around 5′ 6″, but that’s all I messed up with.

If you just assume things like assuming that I haven’t watched him play, then don’t comment or insult.

Then why write the headline “Arsenal transfer news”?! Pointless article then isn’t it if you know he isn’t coming.

You messed up, so you messed up period. Wikipedia is it?

Yes, he isn’t likely to come, but that doesn’t mean it’s all over, if Wenger is serious and really wants to acquire him, then there still is a chance.

I normally get my information from other sites especially Imscouting, but unfortunately, yes, I got the height from Wikipedia.

If you like correcting people, then correct, but don’t assume or insult.

          Everyone makes mistakes.

Arsene should get: Lloris, M’villa, Gameiro, Hazard, Cahill

Those are not bad suggestions at all. All of them are class players, and Cahill is alright.

It looks like there are rumors of Wenger increasing his bid for Samba to 10 million pounds.

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers and take care,

I think we should go for someone who will truly work with Vermaelen. And I can only see Vertonghen or Mexes in that role. I also think that as soon as they’ll ask 12.5m for Samba Wenger will chicken out.
But that’s not the point. Samba will get softened by our game anyway. Not Vertonghen or Mexes.
And please, not another Gotze story. That’d be great if we had class players already all over the pitch. But that’s not the case.
Finally I think that its not to an old monkey you’ll teach tricks, so I don’t see Wenger changing. He’ll just use Bartley and Miquel…
