Arsenal Transfer News: Denilson & Clichy Latest…

Roma Chase Clichy

AS Roma are in talks with Arsenal to sign French left back Gael Clichy. Roma have new ambitious owners who have identified a number of stars to join their revolution next season.

Clichy has stalled on signing an extended contract at the Emirates and will be out of contract next summer. Wenger may be prepared to listen to offers for the 25-year old who will be aloud to leave on a free next summer.

Mediaset reports that Roma have approached the Gunners and requested a price on the former Cannes star.

Sevilla Look To £8m Denilson

Sevilla are set to offer Arsenal reject Denilson a chance to rebuild his career in Spain. The 23-year old was brought for a fee of around £5million back in 2006 from Brazilian outfit São Paulo.

But Denilson failed to establish himself as a regular in the side and admitted last week he will leave in the summer, the Brazilian said “A footballer’s career is over very quickly so it is time for me to move on. This has been the worst season of my life,”

Denilson said in The Sun. “I made up my mind eight months ago. But I haven’t said anything because I did not want to disrupt the team during the season.

“I’ve been to see Arsene Wenger and told him how I felt and he agreed to let me go. I know some people will think I’m crazy. They are right. It is a great club, with a great organisation, a great manager and so many talented players. I need a fresh challenge and although I’m taking a big gamble, I’m ready to take that risk.

The Daily Mail reports that Sevilla are set to offer £8million for the midfielder who has already hinted at a move to La Liga, Denilson said in the Sun “So I am flying home to Brazil on Sunday and I’m hoping I can make a fresh start in Spain or maybe Italy.”
