TRANSFER NEWS: Mancini Wants Drogba To Replace Tevez

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has placed Didier Drogba at the top of his wish this summer, after club captain Carlos Tevez revealed he wants to quit the club.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has placed Didier Drogba at the top of his wish this summer, after club captain Carlos Tevez revealed he wants to quit the club.

The Argentinean striker has said he wants to leave the Eastlands this summer for “family reasons” and the Daily Star reports that Mancini wants a big name to replace the 27-year old.

The Italian tactician has drawn up a wish list that includes Chelsea powerhouse Didier Drogba, Barcelona star David Villa and Atletico Madrid’s skilful Sergio Aguero.

But it is the Ivorian who tops Mancini list and Chelsea appear ready to let the striker go as they prepare for life without their clinical forward.

Villa is an alternative option and the Catalans would be prepared to sell the Spanish international to fund a move for Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas and Udinese Alexis Sanchez, but Villa is unlikely to make the switch from Barcelona to Manchester.

Aguero is another option for Mancini, the striker has already revealed he wants to leave Atletico but the 23-year old is expected to join local rivals Real Madrid.
