Team-Mate Tells Modric To Join Chelsea.…Next Season

By on August 10, 2011

Rafael van der Vaart has revealed he has told team-mate Luka Modric to remain at White Hart Lane for one more season, then move on to Chelsea.

Reports recently have suggested Chelsea were preparing a third bid for Modric with the Croatian keen to join the Blues. Van der Vaart acknowledges Modric will initially be disappointed but expects it to be business as usual once the season starts.

“I’m really happy that he’s going to stay because he’s an important player for us,” Van der Vaart told Sky Sports News.

“I’m happy, of course. Almost every day we ask him to stay and say ‘have a great season, then you can go!’

“The chairman always said he’s going to stay, no questions about it.

“I understand he was a little bit disappointed, but in a few weeks he’s going to be happy again.”

When exactly did VDV say that Modric can join Cheatski next year? Since when did VDV have the authourity to sell any Spurs player? Please report the truth instead of fabricating just for the sake of headline.

Well said Ray. It’s a question of whether the posters of these articles are too stupid to understand what’s said or think everyone else is too stupid to see their underhand, distortionss. I think it both if you read artciles on this site. Football Friends aka the challenged.
