Arsenal to move for young English pair

Some transfer gossip for you this morning Arsenal fans and if these rumours are true i would be one happy Gunner.

First up is Arsenal’s search for a new goalkeeper. It has been reported that Arsene Wenger will make a £10m bid for on loan Manchester City stopper Joe Hart in the summer.

It is no secret that Arsenal’s current top two keepers have made some calamitous errors this season and it’s believed Arsene has had enough, and Hart is his first choice to become our new No1.

A move for Hart would make sense as he will find himself playing back-up to Shay Given when he returns from a very successful loan spell at Birmingham City. I very much doubt he will want to take a step back and sit on the bench every week after making such huge steps forward this year, which could and should earn him a place in England’s World Cup squad.

He is young, talented and English and would be good value at £10m. A good deal all-round Arsene, get that one sorted on Saturday when City come to the Emirates.

The next piece of news is that Arsenal are the latest club to show an interest in Everton’s exciting midfielder Jack Rodwell.

Although Rodwell signed a 5-year deal last February, due to the amount of interest shown in the player, Everton are keen to offer him improved terms in order to keep him happy and not have his head turned.

Rodwell’s impressive performances have attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Cheslea and of course Manchester City. So with that lot sniffing around and the money they would offer, i doubt Arsene will compete for him signature if he becomes available.

It’s very rare that Wenger goes for a young Englishmen, as he believes, quite rightly, that they are vastly over-priced. I could see us moving for Hart as there would be less competition as none of the other big-hitters need a goalkeeper, leaving us in pole position. But Rodwell is a different story, so i wouldn’t get you hopes up on that one.

Would you be happy if Arsenal bought either Hart or Rodwell? Who do you think Wenger should bid for in the summer? Please leave your comments below….

Arsenal don’t need anymore school boys. We need experience/topclass player to blend with the boys we already have. Enough of boys FFS. Both of Hart & Rod are good but not good enough to play for Arsenal. Why not Arsene Wenger go for David James ? Or maybe Buffon ? We need quality keeper between our sticks not another young clown’s like Fabianski (Younger version) or Almunia (Older version). We can use Mannone as a back up, tho. Offload those clowns soonest would be better for the club. Other area, we really need a top quality center back, defending midfielder & a striker. Assuming Chamakh already an Arsenal player. Melo & Lucio would be a good buy. Anyhow we need some experience worldclass players no more fucking school boys. They are plenty of them in Arsenal shirt.

    Cheers.

David James?!!?! What?! You really want a 40 year old who makes more mistakes than our current keepers? Come on mate, seriously. Buffon would be amazing, but unrealistic.

If Hart is not good enough to being Man City number 1 goalkeeper, why should we believe that he can be number 1 in our squad? I rather choose Rene Adler (leverkusen’s number 1) or Manuel Neuer (schalke’s number 1), which both are competing for the Germany side. Cheers…

James make more mistakes than our two keepers!! come on what team have you been watching all season!!. Our keepers have cost us at least 11 points and when can you say about either of them, that they saved us a point!! never not all season. James is massively better than both of them , you could get him for a million so buy him as back up if nothing else.

Keeper we should be going for is the Lyon and French keeper Lloris, he is class and what we need

Mate, David James is a better keeper than Almunia or Flapianski, but he’s not the keeper we need, not by a long way. I have watched every minute of premiership football available, trust me, and i have watched James make mistakes his whole career, and he’s pushing 40! Why would you want that at Arsenal? crazy option.

Almunia, although not good enough to be Arsenals No1, made a crucial penalty save against West Ham if you remember?

Loris has looked quality for the last couple of seasons, but looked suspect against Bayern the other night. Missing crosses, etc. If Almunia had conceded that Robben goal he would have been hammered for it.

Lloris, did you see his game against Bayern, just as bad as what we’ve got!!

There’s a reason they call him Calamity James. It would be absolutely silly to replace our current bunglers with him.

Manuel Neur looks like a quality keeper, seen him play a couple of times and he has presence! I would like Buffon, maybe part exchange with Sagna but it’s unrealistic although he is unhappy with Juventus at the minute! Need one maybe two centre backs depending on who leaves, Neven Subotic is pretty decent and I would mind Gary Cahill, English and could be a future arsenal captain. Need to offload people like Denilson, Rosicky and Eduardo and then look to the likes of Melo or Sissoko for midfield cover. I also genuinely wouldn’t mind if we got 15/20 mil for Clichy this season, you may think i’m made but I feel he leaves us vulnerable at the back. Likes to attack too much without and end product, I would like Vermaelan to go left back as he has been left suspect positionally in a few games i.e Barcalona. With him at left back, and another partner for Gallas if he stays I reckon we would have a real solid, powerful back four.

birmingham havent been the easiest team to score goals against, i dont believe that they collectively have a better defence than ours….i wouldnt say the same comparing our goalies, so at 23….Hart is not only a good goalie, but an excellent long term investment….the sticking issue is that mancity are competing with us for things and would want to supply us with players to obviously strengthen our side….i don think they need the money. secondly, they might not feel the need to lose a young quality keeper who can easily go to another club or have his loan indefinitely extended till their number one hangs up his gloves. really, the trick was missed when Given was available for 8 mill last season

Spot on mate, well said. Hopefully Hart will kick up a fuss about wanting stability instead of getting shipped out on loan and ask for a perminent transfer.

Hart would be a great signing. He’s off to the world cup and has been nowt short of a revelation at Birmingham. I reckon they’d’ve struggled if he wasn’t there.
Another thing, we have good relations with the Man Citeh hierachy as we sold them Ade & Kolo so if they were willing to sell I don’t see why we couldn’t negotiate a price.
But there are other options. David James should not be one of them.

Dont believe either of these rumours. I for one will not hold my breath -yes we need a top keeper and defenders and a midfielder- but the chances of Wenger signing a decent keeper are not high judging by his track record- Lehmann was a liability in big games but is a level ahead of Almunia and Fabianski who are both error prone- obvious to everyone except Wenger himself and the AKB.

Not too sure if any of you realise but we need young english talent, the new homegrown rule will be coming in and we need a fair few number of players under the age of 21. You’re all on about buying this foreign player and that. Hart would be perfect, forget Lloris and all the other foreig keepers.
