BREAKING NEWS: Gunners Announce £8m Signing
By Football Talk Published: 31st August 2011Arsenal have confirmed a deal to sign Per Mertesacker from German club Werder Bremen.
As confirmed on Arsenal.com, an agreement has been reached with the club, and the player has passed a medical and agreed personal terms. All that remains is for the transfer to be formally registered. The deal is thought to be worth in the region of £8m.
Arsenal fans have been crying out for a dominant and experienced centre back, and at 6ft 6″ and 75 caps for Germany, Arsene Wenger has certainly delivered.
