Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has revealed live on Sky Sports News that a deal for Gary Cahill is dead.
Tottenham have been working hard all day to broker a deal for the England international, but Redknapp confirmed a deal couldn’t be agreed.
As he left Spurs Lodge, Redknapp said the main problem was the fee and it was simply a difficult deal to finalise. As a result, Sebastien Bassong’s move to QPR was aborted at the last minute.
Arsenal had been front runners for Cahill’s signature but pulled out in favour of German Per Mertesacker so it seems Cahill is set to remain at the Reebok this season.

Good i am pleased they didn’t get him.
I now wish Arsene would just bring in ONE more top player to finish it all off tonight but time looks very much against that.
Yeah, especially if they wanted £17m with only one year left. That would be silly.
Another over valued English player. No Champions League experience & two caps for England..one as a sub & one friendly.
Benayoun will be the next signing, I would of like to of seen Arteta though…
Haha, will go for free now. Bolton for relegation. In the words of the chairman … “‘Bolton are you taking the piss no sale for Garry Cahill f*** right off!!’)
Serves right greedy Bolton. Hope Coyle feels silly now after being so cocky about the Arsenal offer.
so shall you always fail rednapp and levy 4 not letting modric go.
