Chelsea’s Deadline Day Modric Bid Revealed

By on September 5, 2011

Chelsea’s latest offer for Luka Modric was £30million cash with £10million rated defender Alex included in the package.

The Daily Star says Chelsea’s failed with a last-ditch bid to finally sign Modric on transfer deadline day and opted for former Liverpool ace Raul Meireles as an alternative to Modric.

Harry Redknapp suggested the Blues latest offer was £40million for the Croatian playmaker. Daniel Levy was defiant over his stance with Modric and refused to sell the midfielder despite clearly wanting to leave for West London.

If Modric is really after the Champions League and a Premier League winning team he will not just settle for more money at Tottenham, he will either keep things as they are hoping Chelsea will call again in January, or he will negotiate a new contract that allows a buy out from a big club. You can be sure there will be no further deal otherwise.

Wasn’t this “news” reported widely a week ago? Worthless non-information.
