Sneijder: I Wanted To Move To Man Utd

By on September 8, 2011

Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijider admits he wanted to leave for Manchester Untied this summer.

Reports suggested that United had a bid accepted for the Dutch ace but Sneijider’s excessive wage demands forced the Red Devils to back out of the deal, but Sneijder admits he was keen for a move to United:

“United? I would have liked to [join them]. It would be crazy to suggest otherwise,” Sneijder was quoted as saying by the NUsport.

“There was a moment when I was close to United, but in the end nothing happened.

“However, I am happy in Milan as the president [Massimo Moratti] did not want to sell me.”

Despite the move collapsing Sneijder insists he is very happy in Italy.

“Inter gave me a chance when the door was closed. I feel at home here and I never wanted to go.”
