Wenger Targets £30m Wonderkid

By on September 13, 2011

Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal must keep Borussia Dortmund star Mario Gotze quiet ahead of their Champions League encounter this evening.

Wenger was linked with a mega money move for the attacking winger this summer with speculation that the club even submitted a £30million bid for the German international.

Arsenal will travel to the Signal Iduna Park tonight in questionable form and will start the match as underdogs. The under-fire boss admits his side much attack the German champions tonight in order to keep their tricky winger quiet.

“He is the provider,” Wenger told arsenal.com. “He is the one who had the best assists in Germany and is the most dangerous player.

“He links well with his strikers and is the player we have to keep quiet. The best way to keep him quiet is for us to attack.”

Benayoun was completely absent as Dortmund continued with their relentless attacks. We were overwelmed in the midfield as Goetze and Kagawa had a field day.
