‘Arsene Has Significant Funds For January Transfer Window’

By on September 21, 2011

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has stressed that manager Arsene Wenger has ‘significant’ funds at his disposal.

Arsenal fans were left slightly disappointed by the clubs transfer dealings this summer, which saw key players Fabregas and Nasri leave the club for big fees with no marquee replacement brought in, and once again they made a profit in the transfer market.

However, Gazidis insists the money is available if the boss finds the right player to spend it on:

“Certainly in January and next summer there are significant funds available to bolster the team,” he said.

“The important thing from our perspective is – and this is something that Arsène has been extremely disciplined in over time – that we are not just going to spend money because we are under short-term pressure.

“We are going to make sure that the players we bring in are the right players.”

Dont you think the problem is Wenger seems unable to find the right players at the right price and hence thats a deficiency Arsenal need rid itself of?

A managers jod includes finding players to move the club foward and Arsenal has been stagnent and regressing in the past 6 years.

This thing about keeping the club in the CL is overrated in the fans pespective because its been participation and not competing in 14 years Arsenal has been past the semi finals only once!! under achievement

we here the same song has money to spent on right players then when he does find them he puts in a stupid bid that makes us look like a d head Gary Cahill Chris Smalling did not keep Flamni because did not want to pay the money. I would rather they come out and say they will not pay no more than 15 million on one player unless they are 15 and from France 2nd division.Need a new defensive coach pat rice to long in the tooth and Wenger to stubborn read his book he basically tells you he is stubborn.

WOW! You guys are so gullible. They say this every transfer window, then they say only if these players will improve the team, then Wenger says he has faith in the squad, then the window closes, then we get injuries and start to play worse than before.
Sneijder will NOT come to The Arsenal, because we will NOT pay his wages.
Stop believing what they say, and look at what they do!

why do all fans suddenly think wenger is going to buy, what has changed him yes we lost to manure 8-2 and to blackburn 4-3 but we all no what he is going to say and that is WHEN OUR INJURED PLAYERS COME BACK THEY WILL BE LIKE NEW SINGINGS AND I WILL NOT BE BUYING A CENTER BACK AS I ALREADY HAVE FIVE AND ARTETA, RAMSEY AND WILTSHIRE WILL RUN THE MIDFIELD

COME ON US GOONERS GOTTA RISE UP AND CHALLENGE THE DONKEY THAT WENGER IS MAKE HIM DO WHAT WE WANT

i totally agree with coulson. The club will always come up with this talk and fans believe they will sign the riberys, or the matas. Arsene’s way has ALWAYS been to buy cheap. If you look at our squad in comparison to man u or city or even tottenham they have winners that will win them the change. We just sold TWO of our winners. Also having english players in a team whether there technical or not DOES make a difference in the premier league. Once wilshere returns we will improve immensely.

SAMBA is a MUST!! He will not let any ball into the penalty area! Even if its gonna make him suffer!

Why oh why not we sign Inler??? Let song and Frimpong fight for the second spot..INLER will definitely make our midfield and defend a CASTLE!

Get rid of Rosicky, bring on MARVIN!

    Bye bye Chamakh, Welcome SOW!

THIS WILL DEFINITELY IMPROVE OUR TEAM!

p/s : IF ARSHAVIN GOES, BRING ON HAZARD!
