“Liverpool Was The Only Club I Was Interested In”

Charlie Adam admits he didn’t consider any other offers, after Liverpool declared their interest in the playmaker.

The Scot was close to a move to Tottenham in January after a move to Liverpool failed earlier in the transfer window. After both moves failed to materialise, the former Rangers man admits he thought he missed the opportunity to move to the Reds. Liverpool’s £8million summer signing said:

“When the January window passed I never thought it would come back again.

“I never heard anything for the rest of the season and thought that was it. I was just concentrating on Blackpool, but fortunately Kenny Dalglish gave me the opportunity to sign in the summer.

“The first I knew it could happen again was when the bids came in and I told the chairman Liverpool was the only club I was interested in. Fortunately he did the deal with Damien (Comolli) to let me join the club.”
