Spanish Ace: “Great For Football That Torres Is Back To His Best”

Gaizka Mendieta feels Fernando Torres is returning to his best form at Chelsea after a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge.

The former Valencia star believes Torres is finally starting to settle in West London, with the striker finally starting to show signs of the form that he produced regularly at Liverpool. Mendieta told talkSPORT:

“It’s great for football that a player like Fernando is coming back. It was difficult for him last season. He moved to London, to a new team that was already built for years, and he had to fit in straight away.

“Now he’s had a pre-season, he’s been there for a while, he knows everything about the club, about the players, his team-mates know him better, and he’s feeling more comfortable about everything.

“You can see that on the pitch. He’s more lively and he’s scoring goals, which at the end of the day is what a striker needs.”

Torres has scored two in his last three games for Chelsea, but will be suspended for their next three Premiership games following his straight Red card against Swansea last weekend.
