Barca Tell Arsenal To Name Their Price For Fabregas

Barcelona have declared that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas wants to join the Spanish champions and have told the Gunners to name their price, while they are also closing in on a deal to sign David Villa from Valencia.

Vice president for sport Rafael Yuste claims that Barcelona will be working hard to sign the Spanish pair, but an important factor is that both Fabregas and Villa are keen on a move to Catalunya.

“Negotiations are progressing well especially in the case of Villa.

By contrast, Arsenal must make a starting price for Cesc, which they have not yet done. The situation with Cesc is different because even if you have the will of the player it is very important to talk to his club and, if you can, find an agreement.

“But what makes it easier is that both players want to come to Barca.”

General director Joan Oliver confirmed the club are looking to make key additions to the squad for next season, and said it was a compliment that players such as Fabregas and Villa wanted to play for Barcelona.

“Our team is like a puzzle, one feature is that it has no specific objectives, but it is true that we are focusing on three specific positions. For us it is a compliment that players like Villa and Fabregas have expressed their desire to play with us,” Oliver declared, as quoted by AS.

“These players are clear that they are top professionals, but there is a long process between when they produce such a statement and when they can be here.”

The Fabregas rumours are mounting by the day and the next week will crucial in determining where the midfielder will be playing next season as he wants his future sorted before the Spanish squad meets up next week.

I’m amazed that none of this counts as tapping up, hasn’t it been going on for years. Who says UEFA hates English clubs….

Im worried about the creativity of the team. I do not know any one with such clever and desicive passes as Fabrigas.

Im very jelous of Barcelona, with all the great players they have they are still signing the best of the best in the world of football.

JSP is right, if we are going to lose him let us do that for not less than 80 million, or 65 million + Toure. Even if that happen I will not be happy. I still think if you want to be on the top of the game you should have players like Fab. He will not be replaced for less than Ribery, and it would be better with Ribery+Benzema. I know Im dreaming but it is an achievable dream if the boss wants that.

Arrogant spanish pricks. Arsenal don’t have to do jack shit, as Fabregas is under contract until 2014.

Make an absurdly stupid offer and they can have him.

WHY IS IT THAT EVERY SEASON, WHEN ARSENAL FANS ARE CLAMOURING TO SEE NEW FACES TO EMIRATES. IT ONLY ENDED IN SEEING OUR BEST PLAYERS LEAVE. THIS IS BECOMING 2 BAD OF YOU MR WENGER. WE ARE LOOSING THE SUPPORT OF OUR FAN BASE AROUND THE WORLD. CESC HAS 4 MORE YEARS TO SPEND WITH US IF IT WERE TO B OTHER MANAGERS THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO BARCA BUT WENGER IS TOO CHEAP TO HANDLE AND THATS WHY EVERY BODY IS COMING TO TAKE OUR PLAYERS AWAY. GUNNERS TILL I DIE ONOWU FROM LAGOS NIG

I am one person who is not worried when a player states the will to leave his current club for another. If Fabregas wants to leave, so be it, and fast enough so Arsenal find his replacement or Nasri takes up the role. But he shouldn’t hold Arsenal @ ransom.!

Let him go and win some trophies.
He deserve it. Arsenal is not going to win anything in near feature for sure. Then why we need to force him to stay.

I think 45m + Yaya is good for Fab.
But sad thing is, AW won’t spend that money in market for good players.
He may spend for below average injured player or wait for Ramsy.

I agree with you cinjo, Cesc & in fact Ashavin should go to a better team – WENGER DOES NOT DESERVE THEM!! Wenger has let us down, AFC is no experiment club for him and he should take his experiments else – like Africa and stay there!

One question I think needs answering, why do Arsenal always sell players on the cheap (mostly to Barcelona as well, a club that is meant to be mega rich)?????
Have Arsenal contracts become that poor since the board forced David Dein out? I honestly feel the one way to turn our fortunes around are to bring back Dein, and quickly!!!!!

if fabregas leaves they better be ready to let some serious cash go because fabregas is under contract. I don’t want yaya in Arsenal I say nothing under 65 million fuck that they already have messi xavi and now they want fabregas. If he wants to leave then theres not much point in having him at the club it would be better if he left. And the only person I’d like to see replace fabregas is Diego. If fab leaves and wenger doesn’t buy top class players it’ll be another trophy less season for us boys.

I don’t think clubs should bow to the demands of a player if he says he wants to leave, it sets a bad example. Fabregas was happy to sign a long term contract at Arsenal to get extra money from the club and he should now be made to honour that contract, or made to pay back the extra money he earned since he signed it. He would feel hard done by if Arsenal asked for the money back, but it’s alright if he demands to leave when he wants!!
These glory boys should live in the real world. They are just money driven bastards the lot of them. Petulant little turds I have less and less time for, whatever club they play for. I mean £135000 a week for Adebayor, come on, and I haven’t even started on those idiots from Chelsea!!!!

I for one feel that if he wants to go, let him go! Get Toure and Krkic + 45m, get Arteta and Nasri to fill that role, sell Rosicky and get Ben Arfa, 2 CB’s as Gallas is off, a Gk and we have a great chance

i honestly feel sorry for Fab, he has been ptient and am sure he cant stand it when he sees he fellow youthmates winning medals and trophies. the only person to blam is so called PROFFESOR who has no shame and has only managed club on fincial stability than winning based ideology.. he must have pocketed huge bonus at expense ou us fans!!!

No – if Barca are serious they should make a bid, not expect Arsenal to name a price. Barca are just to proud to face having it rejected, just like they only want Cesc back to satisfy their pride because he walked out on them as a youth. I hope that Arsenal ignore all these rumours and leave Cesc to get on with his World Cup.

can wenger ask for a price that will make barca never want to tap players from us again, and also make them unable to get another player for atleast two seasons to come.

If fab is going to go then lets give Barca a real kick in the teeth and give Real Madrid first refusal on him!

If he dont wanna be at arsenal then it aint gonna do the team moral any good so i would say offers in excess of £60m
