Villas-Boas Confirms Striker To Undergo Surgery

By on November 2, 2011

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas admits it was the right time for Didier Drogba to undergo surgery.

The Ivorian is currently serving a three match domestic ban following his red card at Loftus Road two weeks ago and with an international break also on the horizon, Villas-Boas admits the timing is perfect for Drogba to have screws removed from the arm he fractured at last year’s World Cup:

Speaking ahead of last nights game with Genk, which Chelsea drew 1-1, the Blues boss said:

“We took the risk based on his domestic suspension and the forthcoming international break to remove six of the eight screws from his arm,” Villas-Boas said.

“So he’s out of this game and the Blackburn game”.

I think what Avb is not getting right is that using bosingwa is what is causing the defence a big problem, with the like of David luiz, John Terry, Cole and Invanovic in the defence, the defence will be perfect.
