Lamps Tells Villas-Boas To Keep Playing Him

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes he doesn’t need to be rotated and feels his body responds well to regular football.

The experienced England international has been used sporadically under Andre Villas-Boas, with the manager insisting he wants to keep his midfield talisman fresh, but Lampard insists his better suited for playing regularly. Lampard said:

“It’s just how I feel personally but I do think it’s over-played when people talk about having to play so many fixtures.

“Everyone is different – but I think my body responds to playing regularly and I’ve been very lucky in my career with that.

“Some players might argue differently but it’s part of the game to play regular fixtures in all competitions if you’re a top team. If anyone took that away from me I would probably feel a bit empty.

“Sometimes I get the hump when we don’t have midweek games!”
