Chelsea Line-up Stunning Raid For 5 Barcelona Starlets

By on November 9, 2011

Chelsea are lining up a stunning raid on Barcelona, with the West Londoners tracking up to five of the Spaniards youth players.

Having already purchased Oriol Romeu over the summer, Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo says Chelsea chiefs were recently spotted in Barcelona discussing a move for young starlet Michael Emenalo.

Chelsea are also plotting moves for a further four Barcelona youngsters, namely full back Martin Montoya, defender Marc Bartra and winger Rafa Alcantara, while they have also been linked with Sergi Roberto, despite the Barca B team midfielder inking a new deal which carries a €12 million buyout clause.

The speculation comes as Chelsea look to brand a more youthful squad, with the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba coming to the twilight of their careers, and it seems Chelsea are looking to follow Arsenal in snapping up the best that Barca’s youth set up has to offer.
