REPORTS: Chelsea Tracking Spanish International

By on November 12, 2011

Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Spanish international winger Santi Cazorla, according to reports in Spain.

Cadena Ser reports that the Blues have been keeping tabs on the 26-year-old after an impressive start to the La Liga season with new club Malaga.

Malaga with their newly found fortunes landed the player from rivals Villarreal in the summer, with Cazorla leaving El Madrigal after helping The Yellow Submarine reach the Champions League.

The Blues have already spent big to bring fellow countrymen Juan Mata to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window, with the former Valencia wide man making an immediate impact in the Premier League. The acquisition of Mata has set a blueprint that the Chelsea boss will be hoping others like Cazorla can follow.

However, the rumours suggest that Chelsea would have to spend big to bring the player to England, given the recent nature of his move in Spain.
