Ex-Liverpool Ace – Torres “A Lot Worse Than Carroll”

By on November 20, 2011

Andy Carroll will prove to be a better signing than Fernando Torres, thats the opinion of former Liverpool defender Dominic Matteo.

Liverpool bought Carroll from Newcastle last January for £35m after they had sold Torres to Chelsea for £50m. Both players have struggled somewhat to reproduce the form that persuaded the two clubs to part with a combined £85m for their services.

Matteo believes the Spaniard seems to have lost his confidence and finishing ability that saw him become a firm favourite at Anfield, and thinks Liverpool will see his sale as a good piece of business. While at 22, Carroll still has the time to grow as a player and Matteo feels the Geordie striker will have a bright future.

“I think Torres has been a lot worse than Carroll,” he told the Sunday Mirror. “For some reason, he has lost his confidence.

“We’re all now thinking, will he ever get that back? Has he got the desire to get that back?

“His finishing seems to have gone to pot. Liverpool will be seeing selling Torres as a good bit of business.

“Carroll’s still a young lad who’s very raw. With the right coaching behind him, he could have a bright future.”

Matteo is just like Aldridge ? bigoted!
LFC ‘STUFFED UP’ by selling Torres! The man has a career to think of,but the club under H&G broke all their promises. It was no wonder he was downhearted. His prblem at Chelsea now is because he does’n’t have players to feed him like he had at LFC!

This is all rather stale and no longer news-worthy stuff. Move along please!
