“If There Is Interest From Chelsea, I Will Study It”

Uruguayan defender Diego Godin has welcomed interest from Chelsea and claims he would consider a move should the West Londoners come in for him.

Uruguayan defender Diego Godin has welcomed interest from Chelsea and claims he would consider a move should the West Londoners come in for him.

Chelsea were reported to have make enquiries for Godin a year ago but were knocked back by Atletico Madrid, who refused to sell their defender. Andre Villas-Boas has endured a tough start to life in the Premier League and many pundits have questioned the ability of David Luiz and suggested the Blues need reinforcements at the back.

It’s been reported Chelsea will now rekindle their interest in Godin with a view to a January move, something the 25-year-old would consider should it come about:

“If there is interest from Chelsea, I will study it,” he told Goal.com Spain.

“At the moment, there is nothing. For now I am at Atletico Madrid and I am not thinking of anything else. There is nothing official.”
