Mario Gotze Transfer Update….

The race for Mario Gotze has intensified after Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool have all joined the race for the German star.

Arsenal were thought to be favourites to sign the talented playmaker after tracking him for over a year. Arsene Wenger made several enquiries during the summer but Borussia Dortmund refused to do business, with their Champions League participation cited as a key reason.

Dortmund have since crashed out of the Champions League at the group stages, finishing bottom of their group, so will have no European football to look forward to in the New Year. It’s therefore hoped by potential suitors that the Germans will be willing to let Gotze leave in January.

Reports in several news outlets have claimed that Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd have all also been tracking the 19-year-old, and will step up their interest should the German giants decide to sell. It’s believed Dortmund would consider cashing in if they receive a bid of around £30m.

Gotze has previously stated that he would love to join either Arsenal or Real Madrid when he does leave Germany, but the Gunners have been put off by the huge asking price and now risk losing out on their top transfer target to a rival club. Although the Premier League quartet face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for the playmakers signature.

Yeah, but he didn’t say that, did he? He just said they were two clubs he’d like to go to. That doesn’t mean if Real, Utd or Chelsea give him a better deal-or if he’s now out of Arsenal’s price range and Barca aren’t in for him that he wouldn’t choose another club. They’re all top sides and all won things more recently than Arsenal and you’d be naive to think a throwaway comment made a while back(when Arsenal were strong in their pursuit of him and the others weren’t) that things will stay that way.

Arsenal don’t want this to be another Mata where they lose out because they didn’t jump while the iron was hot and the price, relatively cheap. IMHO Gotze is a good enough player for Arsene to push the boat out on the fee but in wage terms and potential trophies? I still think it’ll be a tougher ask than you suggest.

f he moves to prem then City or Chelsea unfortunetly would most likely be his destination

I don’t think we will sign this guy. We are most likely going to end up signing the Basel guy and honestly that guy seems to be a better option.

We already have Wilshere and Ramsey in the middle but Aneke is also very young and should be there soon.

We need someone who can play in other positions and the Basel guy fits this perfectly plus he will be cheap.
