[VIDEO GOALS] Stoke 2-1 Tottenham: Spurs Record Ends In Controversial Fashion

By on December 11, 2011

Tottenham’s impressive run came to an end in controversial fashion, as Stoke ran out 2-1 victors at the Britannia. Ex-Spurs midfielder Matthew Etherington put the home side 2-up at half time with two close range finishes. The opener coming after good work from crouch, although it looked like he handled the ball in the build up to the goal. Tottenham got themselves back in the game after Whelan upended Modric in the box, Adebayor making no mistake from the spot to make it 2-1. The visitors had several opportunities to equalise and had at least two strong penalty claims turned down, as well as Adebayor also having a goal ruled out for offside, with replays suggesting the goal should have stood. LOL. Based on the highlights it should be 2:0 to Stoke and yellow card to Mordich for the diving. If it was Arsenal who conseded such terrible goals the media titles would be “Poor defense costed Arsenal again” not “Controversial referees strike again”. But that’s ‘Arry, the most popular next England coach. Let’s praise him instead.

    That was an apparent dive.

A goal disallowed wrongly was kind of rough justice. But that was what Spurs deserved.

Refferee must be punished ! There should be an investigation against the refferee, he must have had a “golden” reason for all his “mistakes”. This was blatant robbery at clear daylight !
