Chelsea Transfer News: AVB Rules Out “Impossible” Move For £40m Ace

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has rejected rumours linking him with a move for either Barcelona’s David Villa or Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has rejected rumours linking him with a move for either Barcelona’s David Villa or Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.

The La Liga duo have been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks as Villas-Boas draws up his January short-list. The Blues will be on the look-out for a new striker after the sale of Nicolas Anelka to Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua has now been confirmed, and the future of Soloman Kalou still in doubt.

It’s also believed that Villas-Boas is looking to add to his midfield options with Michael Essien’s continued absence through injury, and Mikel struggling for form this season. This has lead to some suggesting Villa and Khedira as a potential signings.

However, the Chelsea manager has ruled out a move for both insisting the Khedira rumours are un-founded and signing Villa from Barcelona would be “impossible”:

“Khedira is not true and Villa I think is almost impossible,” he said.

“This is a player that cost Barcelona £40million and is one of their most used players, so I don’t think these players are available in the market.”
