Tottenham Now ‘Strong Favourites’ To Sign Lille Forward

Tottenham are leading Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign prolific Lille striker Moussa Sow, according to reports in French.

Tottenham are leading Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign prolific Lille striker Moussa Sow, according to reports in France.

Sow has been a huge hit at Lille since his move from Rennes in 2009, scoring an impressive 29 goals in 48 games. This form has alerted the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham to his talents with all three linked with a move in recent months.

The Senegal international’s future is in doubt after he claimed talks over a contract extension had broken down and talked up the possibility of a move to the Premier League.

He hinted his preferred destination would be Arsenal, but according to French radio station RMC, it’s North London rivals Tottenham who are ‘strong favourites’ to sign the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to add a striker to his squad, with Roman Pavlyuchenko certain to leave White Hart Lane this winter, and it seems £18m rated Sow is high on his wish-list.
