Liverpool Transfer News: Kenny Dalglish Responds To New Striker Rumours

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has responded to rumours linking him with a move for a new striker in January, suggesting the Reds don’t need to sign anyone

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has responded to rumours linking him with a move for a new striker in January.

The Reds have struggled in front of goal this season only managing to find the back of the net 18 times in 15 games so far this term, with Luis Suarez the only player to score more than 2 goals.

This poor return has lead to several reports suggesting Dalglish is on the look out for striking reinforcements with a host of names being linked with a move to Anfield this winter.

However, Dalglish has played down these reports suggesting that Liverpool have created plenty of chances this season only to be denied by the brilliance of the opposition goalkeeper, and he can do nothing to stop speculation.

“We did miss some chances [during the weekend’s 1-0 win against QPR], yes, but the goalkeeper saved a lot of them too,” he told the club’s Official Website.

“Do I feel the need to go out and do something about that? Aye, whichever side comes along here next, we’ll ask them to come without a keeper. That’s the best way to do it, isn’t it?

“Irrespective of what I say, it’s not going to stop speculation we are going out in January to sign Joe Bloggs up front, or whoever. I don’t need to say anything.”
