The future of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been thrown into further doubt after reports are circulating that Inter officials will meet Liverpool on Tuesday to discuss a potential deal, while the player himself has intensified rumours he’s set to follow Rafa Benitez to Italy by admitting he is learning Italian.

Mascherano’s future has been questioned this summer following a disappointing season on Merseyside, with the likes of Barcelona thought to be considering a move. But according to Sky Sport 24, Inter director Marco Branca will meet with members of the Liverpool board on Tuesday to discuss signing the Argentina captain. It us thought a fee in the region of £20-£25m would be enough to persuade Liverpool into selling one of their prized assets. Branca will also hold talks with Mascherano’s agent to see if the defensive midfielder would be keen on following his ex-manager to the San Siro.

However, if Mascherano’s latest comments are anything to go by then he may have already made up his mind. Whilst on international duty with Argentina at the World Cup, Mascherano revealed he is learning to speak Italian, while also admitting he doesn’t know where his future lies.

“I am learning Italian while I’m here in South Africa,” he said. “I don’t know what I will do after the tournament. We shall see.”

What do the SOS & IRWT brigade think now. Masch saying this and Rafa pocketing 6m when he knew he had another job to go to. Kuyt’s agent saying his client would consider Inter Milan. Wake UP! LFC needs to get its soul back – young local talent who will die for the shirt. Managers and players can change clubs – we the fans can’t!

We need players like Masch. Too bad we can’t pay for them; and LOL at all idiots thinking O’Neil or Hodgeson are better managers than Rafa.

If Monster Masch leaves we have no midfield left. Even worse if Gerrard, Kuyt and Bennayoun also bugger of to greener grass. Will Arsene come in for Reina now? Anyone think Agger will stay? The aftermath of Rafas departure will be awful.

Hicks and Gillett; WELL DONE!! You raped our club.

Dont get me wrong id like him to stay but i am getting tired of him dropping unsutle hints like this. We need new owners in b4 the world cup ends or we could see an exodus of all our best players. I think Reina is one who will stay however.
