Chelsea assistant manager Roberto Di Matteo has been discussing the clubs January transfer plans and doesn’t expect a busy month in West London.

The blues are on the verge of completing the £7m signing of Bolton defender Gary Cahill, with Owen Coyle confirming a deal should be finalised this weekend.

Nicolas Anelka has already moved to the Far East, while there are doubts over the futures of strikers Saloman Kalou and Didier Drogba, who both are out of contract in the summer and linked with January exits, potentially leaving a huge hole in Andre Villas-Boas’ attacking options.

Chelsea have been linked with a host of strikers, with Porto’s Hulk and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain both touted as potential signings.

However, despite the rumours Di Matteo insists Villa-Boas is happy with his current crop of players and doesn’t expect a busy month at Stamford Bridge:

“I wouldn’t expect too much to happen in this market,” commented Di Matteo.

“We are happy with the quality we have.

“We are very happy with the team, with the players we have.”
