Norwich vs Chelsea: Injury News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score

Norwich welcome Chelsea to Carrow Road on Saturday with the Blues looking to extend their lead rivals. Here’s team news, likely line-ups & predicted score

Michael Essien

Norwich welcome Chelsea to Carrow Road for the early Saturday kick-off with the Londoners hoping to take advantage of ‘Super Sunday’, that see’s four of the top five clubs play each other.

With their rivals guaranteed to drop points, it’s vital for the Blues to secure all three points against newly-promoted Norwich. Andre Villas-Boas will know victory could see them open up a seven point gap over Arsenal, should the Gunners lose to Manchester United on Sunday.

Injury News

Norwich have doubts over the fitness of Marc Tierney who has only just returned to training following injury and this game should come too soon.

James Vaughan and Elliott Ward will also miss out as they continue their comebacks while Richie De Laet has returned to parent club Man Utd after seeing his loan cut short.

Villas-Boas is likely to give new signing Gary Cahill his first start after his recent move, the defender should take his place alongside England colleague John Terry.

Chelsea also have Michael Essien back and he’s likely to be given his first start after a lengthy lay-off, as Mikel is struggling to be fit. Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou are with Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations.

Predicted Score

Ninth-placed Norwich have proved to be a difficult side to beat at home this season having only been beaten on three occasions so far. But Chelsea are back to almost full-strength and Cahill should add a bit of stability at the back. I can see Chelsea winning this one 0-2.
