Forget It Kenny – Former Arsenal Man Isn’t The Answer

The Daily Mail are reporting that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is considering a move for ex-Arsenal midfielder Alex Hleb, who is an outcast at Barcelona.

Liverpool fans may be gearing up for a trip to Wembley after securing a 3-2 aggregate win over Man City last night, but fans are still hopeful Kenny Dalglish will be adding to his squad before the window slams shut on Tuesday.

However, i’m not sure the Anfield faithful will be getting too excited about the potential signing suggested in todays media, with the Daily Mail reporting that ‘King Kenny’ is considering a move for ex-Arsenal midfielder Alex Hleb.

The Belarusian international has seen his career nosedive after leaving the Gunners for Barcelona in 2008 and recently had a loan spell at Wolfsburg cut short after only making four appearances this season.

Hleb is now 30-years-old and while he’s still officially on Barcelona’s books, he’s clearly not wanted at the Nou Camp after failing to impress while on loan at Stuttgard, Birmingham or Wolfsburg.

While he did look a decent player for Arsenal playing alongside Rosicky, Fabregas and Flamini in midfield, he was always criticised for a lack of end product and he’s only managed to score a grand total of 3 goals since leaving Arsenal, so it’s unlikely the ‘attacking midfielder’ will be able to add anything of substance to the Liverpool attack should he move to Anfield this month.
